The following year, Os Novos Baianos moved to a ranch in Jacarepaguá, where they led a community life, and released “Acabou Chorare”, a record which, with its mixture of rock, samba, frevo and choro, influenced performers, composers and bands from then on.

The group Os Novos Baianos broke up in 1978, and practically all of its members went on to solo careers.
