Catamaran or schooner trips leave Canindé do São Francisco through the canion do San Francisco river – 65 million years old, considered the fifth largest in the world and the most navigable on the planet – represent the greatest attraction of Canindé.

The itinerary, which can also be done by speedboat, takes about three hours.

At the end of the first one, there is a 40-minute stop at Paraíso do Talhado, a section of the canyon that looks like a huge pool and where you can dive or ride a boat. During the trip, pay attention to the beautiful rocks of Gavião and Japones and the Morro dos Macacos.

When choosing the type of vessel, consider that, on the schooner, you can be sheltered from the relentless sun, while the catamaran has what is known in the locality as a “natural swimming pool”, a kind of net that descends to the waters from the river, delimiting a space for bathers along the way.
