Agreste Pernambuco is a paradise for extreme sports. Bonito, with eight waterfalls that vary from 2 to 30 meters in height, provides adventurers with trails, treks, trekkings and rappels that are breathtaking. Formed by the waters of the Verdinho River and the Águas Vermelhas stream, the Bonito waterfalls make up one of the most beautiful landscapes in the state.

One of the attractions in Pernambuco's rural area is also the climate.

The city of Gravatá, 80 km from Recife, is at an altitude of 447 meters. In the months of June and July, the low temperatures, the activities that characterize the country life and the local gastronomy attract thousands of visitors. In higher altitude cities, on the so-called Planalto da Borborema, the cold inspired cultural events such as the Winter Festival of Garanhuns. The municipality, 230 km from Recife, has hosted one of the largest music festivals in the state for over twenty years.
