Diving is Fernando de Noronha's biggest attraction.
The waters are so transparent that visibility on the seabed can exceed 40 meters. Excellent for viewing a natural system with approximately 230 specimens of fish, fifteen varieties of coral and five types of shark.
Can be practiced in Fernando de Noronha: scuba diving, technical and free diving (apnea) and even baptism (Discovery Diver), where the visitor can take a dive guided by a certified instructor, and enjoy the beauty of the sea. Noronha, in addition to getting to know diving as a sport. As for underwater fishing, this is completely prohibited.

Main diving spots in the inland sea
Shoe Head
With depths reaching 42m. it is a wall with a very large variety of fish passing through that reach the surface. Suitable for experienced divers. It was where the Corvette Ipiranga collided before sinking.
Shoe Cave
The cave is located right on the curve of Ponta da Sapata, at a depth of 18m. Normally when entering it, it is common to see some stingrays that are usually resting on the sand and with a large grouper that has lived in the cave for several years. The cave is 15m high by 30m long.
Two Brothers Slab
Close to the Dois Irmãos hill, it has an average depth of 23m, with rocks, sand and a lot of marine life. From time to time, it is possible to run into some fine-beaked sharks.
Eleni Estathatos Wreck
It is possible to reach it from the port and swimming, as it is only 100m away. It was a Greek freighter that sank in the 20s, making it a great place for night or late afternoon dives.
Coverta Ipiranga Wreck
Considered the most complete wreck in Brazil and one of the most beautiful in the world, the Corvette Ipiranga sank in 1983 due to a navigation error. It is stopped at a depth of 64m, but the dive performed in it normally does not exceed 53m due to the long decompression.
Only experienced divers can dive on site, with a prior assessment carried out by the operator.

Watchtower
With the shallow depth due to low tide, many divers go snorkelling. Excellent for macro and close-up shots, due to the large variety and quantity of fish and even small baby sharks.
Subsea Head
Meeting point with the turtles that frequent the Baía do Sueste. Many burrows and big fish. Depth reaching 25m.
iuals
Similar to Pedras Secas, it is a 23m submerged slab with several types of fish and a wide variety of organic life. Considered one of the best dives in Noronha.
Dry Stones
They are a set of stones that outcrop on the surface, where the local depth is around 15m, with many sponges, fine-beaked sharks and sandpaper (Lambarú), large barracudas, stingrays, turtles.
It has several entrances forming small “canyons”, and normally visibility is excellent. Care must be taken with currents in the area. At certain times of the year, gigantic shoals of sardines appear, circling the rocks.
Other diving spots
Middle Island
Several burrows and caves, with a depth of 15m, provide shelter for different schools and nurse sharks (lambarús).
Resurrection / Rat Channel
Good “Drift-dive”, with depths between 8 to 15m. Relatively quiet inlet on the edge of a clear water channel.
shearers
With a rocky shore, great for beginners in deep diving, where the depth reaches 30m. It is divided into “Cagarras Fundas” and “Cagarras Rasas”. These are deep dives in protected coves.
hell hole
Wide area with various underwater navigation options. Beautiful rock formations that resemble mountain ranges. Depth reaching 25m.
North Point
Large submerged rock, like a skyscraper, which allows for a beautiful dive that starts in the sand, with large fish, a lot of marine life and depth reaching 42m.
Goats Hole
Volcanic rock formations with several schools of small fish; usually with a “drift” that ends in the Canal da Rata. Depth up to 15m.
Frade Island
Excellent spot for meeting turtles, especially on the part of the island facing the open sea. Several types of corals and sponges and depths of up to 20m.
