Em primeiro plano, soldados holandeses supervisionam nativos que descarregam mercadorias de uma pequena canoa. A cartela de faixas apresenta um brasão de armas com um emblema de avestruz. Esta gravura foi publicada na obra Rerum per Octennium in Brasilia, de Caspar Barlaeus, que acompanhou a viagem do Conde Johan Maurits van Nassau ao Brasil entre 1636-1644.
