Engenho Cuerinha – Rural Tourism Route in Pernambuco

Rural Tourism Route in Pernambuco is a journey through bucolic and enchanting landscapes, abundant gastronomy and the whole universe of the interior of the State.

This is the proposal of the Rural Tourism Route guide in Pernambuco, by the Pernambuco Tourism Secretariat (Setur-PE), through the Pernambuco Tourism Company (Empetur).

The event took place at Engenho Cuerinha, located in the rural area of the city of Nazaré da Mata (Zona da Mata).

The Rural Tourism Route is a guide created especially for domestic and foreign tourists who arrive in Pernambuco interested in knowing differentiated tourist options.

The initiative also aims to encourage Pernambucans to get to know the State itself.

The itinerary of the Rural Tourism Route Pernambuco presents tourist facilities such as sugar cane mills, secular churches, ecological reserves and cachaçarias.

The Rural Tourism Route Pernambuco guide includes 18 cities, divided according to the region.

They are: Recife, in the Metropolitan Region; Goiana, Nazaré da Mata, Paudalho, Quipapá, Ribeirão, São Benedito do Sul, Vicência, Vitória de Santo Antão, in Zona da Mata; Bezerros, Bonito, Camocim de São Félix, Chã Grande, Gravatá, Sairé, Saloá and São Joaquim do Monte, in Agreste and Triunfo, in Sertão.

The material also brings highlights with information on visitation, accommodation and day use of each equipment and a section with lodging facilities registered with the Ministry of Tourism.

The itinerary offers leisure options and provides a historical journey to the destinations that lived the height of sugar production in the State. “With the Rural Tourism Route Pernambuco, we suggest a journey through our history and culture, through the visit to the old sugar cane mills.

The large houses, chapels and senzalas are true symbols of the period, as are the cachaçarias that preserve the artisanal production method until today “, says the Secretary of Tourism of Pernambuco, Alberto Feitosa.

Sixty thousand copies of the guide were produced. The material will be available free of charge at the Tourist Service Centers (CATs), located at strategic points in the State.

With the Rural Tourism Route Pernambuco there are already five guides launched by Setur-PE: Route 232, Coastal Route, Route of Faith and Pernambuco from 1 to 8 days, which recently won a version in Braille.
