Caetanos de Cima in Ceará is a community that works with community-based tourism.
It is located in the municipality of Amontada, 170km from Fortaleza, on the west coast, on the so-called Rota do Sol Poente.
From Fortaleza to the beach of Caetanos de Cima is about two and a half hours by car.
The village is divided between Caetano de Baixo and Caetano de Cima. Only the village Caetano de Cima, which is on the edge of the sea, offers attractions to visitors.
The place promotes community tourism and attracts people who stay in fishermen’s houses and integrate into the cultural life of the region.
The community of Caetanos de Cima in Ceará is home to 250 families, who receive 300 tourists throughout the year.

The beach has the name Caetanos de Cima because, say the locals, the first to reach this paradise was a slave named Caetano dos Santos, who would have fled and hid there.
