Casa Real Empório in the Historic Centre of São Luís is a pleasant space for meeting friends, a quick snack in the middle of the afternoon or a rest after a walk through the corners of the city centre.
Casa Real Empório, located at Rua Engenheiro Couto, 59, one of the crossroads of Praça D. Pedro II, seems to serve this purpose well.
Located in a 19th century colonial mansion, Casa Real Empório has a charming atmosphere, whose decoration refers to the history of the State, with pictures, paintings of maps and old documents, many of which are for sale in the establishment.
The space is small but cosy, with walls covered with hydraulic tiles. In addition to tables, there is also a counter where conversation with the attendants is favourable.
On the menu, Casa Real Empório offers a variety of Maranhão and Portuguese sweets.
The Emporium also offers a list of drinks ranging from espresso coffee to good quality wines.
Highlights include the sodas made on site. The Sicilian lemon soda with green apple has, in addition to carbonated water, essence that gives the aroma and colour of the fruit. There are other options, such as raspberry and blackberry soda.
Craft beers are also sold on site.
