With clear sand and crystal clear waters, the Maria Farinha Beach – located in the municipality of Paulista, 35 kilometers from Recife – is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of the Pernambuco coast.

Maria Farinha Beach has in addition to a beautiful undergrowth, the resort has tall coconut trees, open sea and the discreet natural limit of the Timbó River, ideal for nautical tours.

Maria Farinha Beach has calm, shallow and clear waters, perfect for water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, diving and jet-skiing and is located between the Timbó River and the sea.

Maria Farinha Beach is four kilometers long and is surrounded by coconut trees and lots of mangroves.

At low tide, boat trips lead to the caravels – small sand and gravel banks that form natural pools full of colorful fish.

Another attraction is the Venice Water Park, with water slides and pools that make the children happy.

Located on the beach of Pau Amarelo on the seafront. It dates from the 13th century.

Its construction was designed by a Portuguese in 1719. Everything indicates that in 1866, it was already completed. Built in ashlar, to defend the beach bar of the same name.

Park of Janga

Janga Park is one of the largest forest reserves in the state.

Its 654 hectares have already been declared of Public Utility. The place is inviting to admirers of ecological tourism. Its area is composed of Atlantic Forest; Mangroves; Hills and Floodplains.

One of the main attractions of the Park is the Church of Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres de Maranguape, built in 1656 and which is in ruins.

The church was built in gratitude for the expulsion of the Dutch. There are also traces of the existence in the 17th century of a convent of nuns, a parish house and a cemetery on the site.

Timbó River

The boat or catamaran ride on the Timbó River is one of the ecological leisure attractions in Paulista. You can contemplate the beauty of the mangroves and learn a little about the history of the city.

The ruins of an old port terminal (Porto Arthur) and the meeting of the river with the sea are marked in the memory of the people who visit the place.

On one of its banks is the Maria Farinha Beach and on the other the locality of Nova Cruz in Igarassu. The tour also allows the visualization of beautiful summer residences and the daily life of fishermen.

Consolidated Historical Center

Consolidated Historical Center dates from the beginning of the century.

It is part of the Consolidated Urban Center, formed by the factories of the Paulista Fabric Company (Aurora and Arthur), the Workers’ Villages, the Casarão and Jardim dos Coronéis and the Church of Santa Isabel, the latter two built in European Style, with exposed brick.
